Canada's Longest Standing Beer Competition

guiding the beer industry since 2000

The Canadian Brewing Awards invites Canadian majority-owned breweries of all sizes to compete in a Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) sanctioned blind tasting determining the best beers in 61 style categories. A Canadian Brewing Award medal is a widely recognized symbol of Canadian brewing excellence.

what to expect

Welcome to the Canadian Brewing Awards, where over 800 breweries come together to compete for a chance to win a coveted medal in one of our 61 categories.

Our team of experienced judges will carefully taste and evaluate each entry to determine the top beers in each category according to BJCP guidelines.

Each entry receives structured and comprehensive tasting notes from a panel of independent judges. We adhere to BJCP standard to maintain the quality and consistency of notes.

On the day of the awards ceremony, the winners of each category will be announced, and medals will be awarded to the top beers. The ceremony is open to all brewers and is a great opportunity to taste the cream of the crop in Canadian brewing.
